About Barleymow’s
Barleymows is very much a family business.
Martin, Rose, Tom and Adam work together to run the Farm and the Shop.
We started by selling the meat from the farm through a box scheme, this grew and grew and led us to build Barleymows farm shop from scratch finally opening in July 2002 when Tom was just six weeks old. With a successful six years under our belts we added the restaurant and our kitchen grew enabling us to make even more products on site. You can’t get fresher than that!
We are a mixed beef, sheep and arable farm with chickens that provide the shop with eggs. We also grow our own Christmas trees.
Did you know that Barleymows is completely self sufficient in electricity with the development of an anaerobic digester that was built in 2012? This means the preparation of our food is powered by moo poo!
Barleymow’s has a local food policy. If we don’t produce the items ourselves we endeavour to source products from within a 25 mile radius. When this is not possible we select products that are as local as possible to keep food miles to minimum and ensure the very best freshness and quality that we all expect.
